In the Heart of Costa Teguise
The apartment is right in the centre of Costa Teguise, part of the Tahiche Complex of around 80 apartments, most of which are privately owned, however, if you feel like a bit of peace and quiet, it's far enough away to have a quiet evening with a Sangria and a game of cards on the private patio. You are a 1 minute walk from the main square, with shops, bars and restaurants all literally within a stones throw.
We truly believe that the location cannot be beaten.
The apartment is about as close to the sandy beach of Las Cucharas as you can get! It's literally out of the front door and walk 35 meters.
The apartment is in a secure complex which is gated. There are 2 swimming pools, one family pool and one children's pool. Both pools are safely fenced.
There is a lovely pool bar where you can get snacks and drinks whilst enjoying the sunshine and it is extremely reasonably priced. All of the parking is FREE, however, unless you're planning to explore the Island by car, then a car really is not necessary. There are car hire places within Costa Teguise itself, so if you fancy a drive out, then it's easy enough to get a car within a few minutes. From experience - it's very often cheaper than getting one from the airport. For the main sights, there are organised tours.
There is a Hyperdino Supermarket on the complex, also a Pharmacy.
How to get to Costa Teguise from the Airport
By Car - VERY EASY, and EXACT instructions to get to the front door are below! If you are following a SAT NAV, beware - as it will take you to the next road along!!
From the airport, follow the LZ-2 north, sign-posted as Costa Teguise and Arrecife. Continue straight ahead following the signs for Circunvalación Arrecife (Arrecife Bypass). Shortly after passing through Playa Honda and as you near a Petrol Station, you will see a signpost above the road indicating that you should move into the left-hand lane for the Circunvalación - (this is only about 3km from the airport. If you get to a roundabout, you've missed the turning and have gone about 2km too far!) Continue along the LZ-3 Circunvalación around Arrecife until you reach the exit for Costa Teguise (Signposted as LZ-18). Follow the LZ-18 road, lined with palms either side, until you enter Costa Teguise.
Once you get to the roundabout with a petrol station on your left hand side, continue straight on - now count the road turnings on your right, and take the 5th turning right (it's the one after Playa Bastian turning). You'll bear round to the right and come to a roundabout - go straight on. The second left is Calle Las Olas which is the road that Tahiche Apartments are on. There are no entry and bright yellow signs at the end of the road - they mean it's pedestrian except for loading / unloading. We always drive down to drop luggage off, and have never been told off! If you turn down this road, Tahiche apartments are 100yards down on the right hand side. The main front door is to the right of and absolutely next to the Pharmacy, You can use this door or - if you keep going down this road, you'll get to a dead end with a small roundabout which is where we park to unload. You'll see the beach to your right. There is also a restaurant to your right, and next to that is a brown bar gate with a key code access and steps behind - this is the back entrance to Tahiche and the steps will take you to within 10m of our front door!
The journey should take around 20 minutes.
By Bus
There is no direct bus to Costa Teguise from Lanzarote Airport, but it is a short hop from the airport using bus route 22 / 23 into Arrecife (timetable) and then bus route 1 (timetable) to Costa Teguise.
Both buses are reasonably regular, however they are less frequent at weekends and on public holidays, so best to check the timetables and plan your journey in advance.
By Taxi
There are plenty of taxis available at the airport. It should cost around €25 and should not take more than 20 minutes.
